Synopsis:
Calvin Poon’s Hi, Fidelity will be taking its bow at the upcoming Hong Kong International Film Festival. The story of three lonely housewives competing for the attention of the same young gigolo is sure to attract attention for its subject matter but beyond that it simply appears to be very, very well done. Here’s how the festival describes it:
How desperate can a house wife get? Three lonely tai tais with their husbands eloping with others (women or men) start to embark on pleasure-seeking excursions to Hong Kong’s neighboring territory. It all started as some good nature fun runs into the pleasure dome, but when they all start to fall for a handsome gigolo with irresistible boyish charm, their friendship is put to the test and what follows is a downward spiral into the abyss of the human psyche. Pat Ha makes a welcoming return and has lost none of her charm that used to grace the screen.

This show wasn’t what I had expected but quite funny and hilarious – below is the synopsis – but for more on the show – follow the birdie. But since it is Robert Downey Jr – i do like him – so therefore I watched it. In some scenes it was just gross big time. But the story wraps around Peter played by Robert Downey and a guy he met in the airport. Aspiring actor – Ethan Tremblay not even his real name – but a stage name – kept Peter’s wallet after they both got kicked off the airline and went on the no fly list. Peter got beaten up by a handicapped veteran who worked in Western Union because Peter was frustrated on took it out on him – with Ethan not of a big help either. The movie took a turn at the end – and you won’t be expecting the ending – so watch it – and have some good laugh.

Movie Review:
Most people say that this movie is a ripped off of the english movie from years ago – by Mel Gibson on what women want. And looking at the trailer – it definitely looked like it. But who would missed a show by Andy Lau and Gong Li right?
Anyway, Lau plays Sun Zi Gang, a chauvinistic ad executive and a divorcee with a teenage daughter who happens to gain the ability to listen women’s inner thoughts after a freak incident. His initial intention to get rid of rival using his newfound ability, senior ad executive Liu Yi-Long (Gong Li) failed as he realizes he has slowly fallen in love with the tough-as-nut career woman.
Would be an interesting watch don’t you think? Follow the birdie for more on the show and check out the trailer below.
Reuniting with a long-lost sweetheart provokes the nascent sense of love, the now-faded memory of heartbreaks, and odd discoveries of belonging to others. [Lover’s Discourse] tells a cliché love story in an irresistibly sweet language. It shows us a multitude of hopes and the desperation of blind love, strange distances between partners, and a double affair. The story soon leads to the tangled threads of suspicion, jealousy, betrayal, and hatred.
[Lover’s Discourse] is an omnibus movie that weaves four love stories into one. Each episode is independent of the next yet each is interconnected. Characters in an individual episode add novel perspectives to the story and thicken the plot. Jumping genres from traditional romance to thriller, we cover [Lover’s Discourse] in familiar movie-speak.
In the latest instalment of “All’s Well Ends Well”, Cecilia Cheung acts as a worker in a cosmetic company, who is loved by her boss, played by Louis Koo. Merry-Go-Round is visually splendid, but its fragmented script and intrusive acoustic score make it a hard film to connect to on an emotional level. A noble, but highly flawed attempt at thoughtful Hong Kong cinema.
A dying drug addict ran away from San Francisco to Hong Kong, to meet up with a net friend she had never met. However, the one she ran into was an ill-tempered old man, who lived as a recluse at Tung-wah Coffin Home. A Chinese herbal physician, who had been staying in San Francisco over decades, decided to return to Hong Kogn when a deed was delivered by courier to her. The owner of a traditional herbal shop in Hong Kong, was a lad who hated to carry on his family business. He came to himself on account of three women. The world changes so swiftly, things we were once familiar with could just vanish in no time. A chance encounter with strangers could bring new horizon to their lives. You can always acquire a new life regardless of your age. You just have to believe.
Synopsis
“All About Love” is a story about two women who were once good friends in school, bumping into each other at a pregnant mothers’ session. Sandra, a bi-sexual lawyer, was sexually involved with a divorced businessman, leading to an unexpected pregnancy. Vivian however, got knocked up by a young guy William whom she met online. As Sandra and Vivian catch up with their lives and stories, they end up falling in love with each other!
Master sorcerer Balthazar Blake recruits a seemingly everyday guy in his mission to defend New York City from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath.
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is a 2010 fantasy adventure film – a family movie I would say – since it’s a Walt Disney Pictures. Parts of the story are loosely based on the Sorcerer’s Apprentice segment in Disney’s Fantasia, which in turn is based on the late 1890s symphonic poem.
Balthaza Blake played by Nicolas Cage is a sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan fighting against the forces of evil, in particular his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath, while searching for the person who will inherit Merlin’s powers. This turns out to be nerdy Dave Stutler – who looks nothing special nor has any special physique on him – too ordinary in my humble opinion. A physics student in NYU, Balthazar takes him as his protege. A crash course later – Dave brings science and magic together to stop Morgana from raising the dead and destroying the world.

Synopsis :
Lam Yi (Grace Ip) returns to the orphanage that she grew up in after a broken relationship leaves her homeless. On the way back one night, she encounters a physically scarred child abandoned on the street with nowhere to go. Feeling sorry for her, Lam Yi takes her back to the orphanage to care for her. However, an investigation into the child’s past reveals spooky paranormal events that becomes far more horrifying that Lam Yi could ever imagine.
Produced by director Derek Yee (One Nite in Mongkok), the horror drama stars Grace Ip (Gen-X Cops), Raymond Wong (The Death Curse), Wayne Lai (Rosy Business), and Carl Ng (Yesterday Once More). Director Albert Mak highlights a traditional Chinese ritual called “scaring” in Forget Me Not. The director shows a detailed depiction of the ritual in the film, which involves shouting the name of a person afflicted by disgruntled spirits to scare those spirits away.

Discovering her boyfriend has another another woman, Yee attempts to commit suicide, but gives up the idea when she meets a child wandering in the street. Suspecting the child may be one of the students in her school whose parents have suddenly died of a car accident, she takes care of the child as if he is disease. When traditional medical treatment fails to cure the child’s sickness Yee brings the child to try a Chinese folk ritual called “soul-calling” – an evil expelling ceremony to cast out the demon that has scared away the child’s soul. The ceremony unveils the true identity of the child which, to her surprise, is related to her mysterious past!

Follow the birdie for a sneak peek of the show – a pretty awesome show too.
The movie show Splice definitely reminds me about hgh human growth hormone because HGH is actually a supplement to help one’s body growth and helps the body maintain better performance whether it is eating, walking and even sleeping.
Of course, the movie Splice is about a cross between human and another species growth – but the species that was experimented on was supposed to bring a cure to the human-kind. But something went wrong with the experience and this sci-fi movie turned out to be a very good one. It’s by Canadian actress and a Canadian production. If you haven’t watched this show yet – you should! It makes me wonder – what would science come up with in the future – will there really be a cure for diabetes, cancer and even AIDs? Pretty awesome show ! watch it!
A prostitution drama for the text messaging generation. Not much new or incisive really happens in Girl$, but director Kenneth Bi delivers a stylish, energetic and passably entertaining flick. It helps to ignore things like developed characters, gender politics, and dangling storylines.
I’ve watched it tonight and it’s quite an interesting show – but definitely a CAT III movie. For those interested in the show – follow the birdie – leave a comment for the password.
