Keeping this blog up and running with no downtime so that all of those who are looking for the chinese movies that I am interested in to watch, needs a good website hosting. Drew of the BenSparkhas put together a great little video demonstrating Dragon NaturallySpeaking. Drew has been blogging for quite some time and he might just be one of the best mobile bloggers that I know. He is probably more famous for his picture a day work as he is an excellent photographer. But I can’t help be amazed at how much content he creates and the high level of quality in that content.
He’s definitely a blogger that employs best practices when he finds them. And based on this video, it looks like he might see some potential in Dragon NaturallySpeaking. Now I am not trying to put an endorsement in Drew’s mouth. Time will tell, but I do think he is off to an excellent start.
You’ll notice in his video, that the sound quality of his video is excellent. That’s actually an important aspect for Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I don’t mean that you need good video quality or sound quality in a video to make Dragon NaturallySpeaking work. However you do need a good microphone, and it should be a noise canceling microphone at that. The better the sound quality, and the better able your microphone is to remove other background noises, the better your system will be able to recognize the words that you say as fast as you say them and transcribe them accurately.
Now Dragon NaturallySpeaking comes with a noise cancellation microphone that works very well when you buy it out of the box. Drew is working with a download version that does not come with a microphone, and so he had to supply his own.
As I write this article, I am using a wireless headset microphone from Logitech. I’ve been using Dragon NaturallySpeaking for almost two years now, but I’ve just recently untethered myself from Dragon NaturallySpeaking and started using a wireless headset microphone with noise cancellation capabilities. Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 does have the capability of working with Bluetooth wireless microphones, but my particular microphone runs on 2.4 GHz wireless technology. Now if you live in a household or work in an office environment where there are a number of systems or phones or microwaves, you may experience some interference with this particular headset. In that case, you will probably be better served with either a Bluetooth headset or a headset that is capable of being plugged directly into your computer through the microphone plug or through USB. I don’t have that issue, and so I do get excellent quality with little to no interference at all.
So if you take an interest in Dragon NaturallySpeaking and want to try it for yourself, I highly recommend that you get a boxed version of the software which you can order from Nuance online. You can even get a good deal on a Bluetooth wireless headset and a bundled option from Nuance. If you’re looking for entry level pricing, you can start using the software and get a headset microphone for as little as $99.
To put that in context, I’ve taken three typing classes over the years to boost my typing speed and spent essentially three semesters practicing at typing. It wasn’t the only thing that I studied, but I spent a lot of time building up my typing skill. With Dragon NaturallySpeaking, you can invest $99, invest an hour installing the software (I’m being very conservative with that time estimate) and as little as 10 minutes training the software to recognize your voice before you can be off and running typing at 150 words per minute!
That is pretty amazing, and well worth the value of $99. Not to mention if you spend a little extra and get a wireless headset microphone, you can pace around your room or your office, you can exercise, or do a number of different things other than sit at a computer desk staring at your computer all day long. $99 basically gives you your freedom.

Lately I have been having a lot of traffic because I have been writing about some Chinese shows from back home. The host that I was with kept going down and one day last week it went down for the whole day. This is not your portable beer cooler.. or a beach bucket.. but it sure looked like it right..?? I know.. i can be mistaken too.. if i had not seen the review/demo of it .. the other day. This is your portable Canon printer… ! trust the Japs to come up with something this funky. This is a stand alone pritner.. that you can use just about anywhere.. by putting in your digital camer’s memory card. .and then printing out 4″ x 6″ photos immediately .. with no need for a computer. Awesome right.. ?? Costing less than $150 .. the photo quality and the colors are pretty good too. So if you are like me.. and loves photo taking.. or know someone who does.. this may be the thing to get her for Christmas.. although .. i doubt the men folks would like something so cute like this.. they prefer the macho stuff. Some of you might think that I’m only interested in entertainment news, but yer wrong. If you don’t know by now, the spouse and I own our a computer, games and entertainment store in our small town of 8,000 or so in population. Therefore, even being an owner by association, I always need to keep updated on certain gadgets and technology news, that way I don’t look so blur when people ask me questions. Also I want to be able to carry a somewhat intelligent conversation with our customer/s.
The Gadget Advisor is a place that someone like me can go to for updates on the latest and the best. Unlike other sites that give you everything and anything which can be quite tedious to read, here the info selectively the best. This site is relatively new but has great potential and they have a cover a wide range of reviews such as the Harmony universal remote control and also online backup services which I found extremely useful for anyone who works with computers. I know the information on the network media players is something that I had been asked about many times by our customers and now I can make my recommendation based on the review given by Gadget Advisor. If you are a techy chick like I am then check it out, I’ve bookmarked this page and recommended it to my girlfriends from home.
I hear by the end of the year.. we are getting a Nintendo DS lite with camera capabilities and some music thing in the DS lite as well. I am not surprised about the music.. but a camera..?? wow..!! awesome..!! now that might encouraged women like myself.. who isn’t into too much gaming to get one.. because the kid can play with it.. and i can take pictures.. or the kid can play and take pictures with it. Actually, I’m not surprised because even the slimmiest mobile phone already have mp3 in them.. and for Nintendo to make this next move.. it’s kinda logical about it. I hear that it will be on sale in Japan first.. but that’s to be expected.. afterall, Nintendo is Japanese make no..? I have been getting alot of enquiries about the Sony Ericsson W581i Pink Phone .. so here is how it looks like for real. Like i said in my previous entry, this phone is ultra light and it’s pretty too. The only thing that is not so good about it.. is the keypad .. it’s easily messed up.. and you have to press really hard on it for text messaging.

You all know how much I love watching movies, therefore when I have a chance to visit movie sets; be it in Hollywood, Asia, Australia or even Japan, I never say no to any invitation from my co-workers. I’ve seen lots of construction work done on sets and many had the stinger cranes everywhere and I can’t helped but think of Al Ashers & Sons.
