For those who knows me – you would know that I loved food – and I love to cook extra food to bring to friends and neighbors to get them to try my food. And this collapsible carrier from Rachel Ray is the best thing one can buy when you have lots of potluck or if you are someone who is invited to parties or housewarming a lot. This carrier will keep your food warm – while you transport them to a friend’s house. Holds a 9 x 13″ baking dish and is expandable to carry a second dish. Keeps your food warm or cold for 6 – 7 hrs. The part i loved most is the handle – the way it is done – your food would always stay where it should be and arrived beautifully at the hostess home. $26.95 – definitely a great buy.
While we had our Thanksgiving dinner in Canada last week, our friends and family in USA will be having it in November – and I choose to send thank you gifts during Thanksgiving rather than Christmas because I think it is more meaningful. Thankful that they are our family and friends – and it’s so easy now – because I can get cookies delivered to your doorstep just with a few clicks of the mouse. Many years ago, I had to plan to send things way ahead of time and postage will cost me a bomb. But now that I can send cookies, fruit baskets, cakes and chocolate online for a very reasonable price – and no hassle – I do that every year – no excuse. Why? because i want to show my friends and family in the States that I am thinking of them and that I love them and am grateful for having them in my life. In fact, i’m sending out one to my boss in the States and in Spain.
Thanksgiving is this weekend – Sunday – and we are heading out to the in-laws for supper of course – but what do one give to the in-laws for Thanksgiving? I can’t give them a fruit basket – coz’ they have a huge garden had plant their own fruits and veggies. I can’t just buy a bottle of wine – coz’ the mother-in-law doesn’t drink wine – or scotch. What can I give that both person can use? Any suggestions? Isn’t it good breeding that you bring a gift when you are invited to supper? Wines are pretty cheap in this part of the world and you can get a bottle of good wine under $20 – and I know the MIL likes candles – but so generic right? I know ! i should give them a leg of ham? flowers? nah ! not flowers that’s for sure – but chocolate – you can never go wrong right? Hmmmm—!! i think i will head to bulk barn and make a basket of chocolate and decorate it – what do you think? yup! that’s what I’m going to do ! a tin of chocolate mixture.
I always tell my daughter – that she is the love of my life – and she would asked me – what about daddy? hahhaha!! smart kid eh. But yes! for the love of your life – wouldn’t you want to give her some chocolate strawberries for Christmas and all those special occasions? I would – and as a woman – I would love to have these yummy chocolate covered strawberries – so romantic or what? I guess people only expect these in the movies – but not anymore – you can now make her dream come true by splurging and treating her with these special chocolates this Christmas! even though I am a diabetic – I would still eat these – if the spouse have these delivered to my office.

The first episode is all about Central areas in Hong Kong, don’t miss out on a HK$200 – beef noodles and some kind of roti prata like food – of course, don’t miss out on the truffles too.. the best is the dessert cake.. not only does it have cotton candy on top.. it’s so colorful.. so romantic.. !!! and traditional fashion wear made modern too, plus where to buy mahjong tiles. Top Chef Masters will pit 24 world-renowned chefs against each other and see how well they fare in the tried and true format of Top Chef. In each episode, money will be at stake for the chefs, with the winners of eliminations being awarded cash donations for their charities. The first six episodes will consist of four chefs competing against each other to name one winner. The six winners of each episode will then meet up for the final four weeks when one person will get eliminated each episode until the finale where one winner is crowned Top Chef Master. The winning chef will receive $100,000 for the charity of their choice.
Each episode of Top Chef Masters holds two challenges for the chefs.The first is a twist on the classic Top Chef Quickfire Challenge which tests their basic abilities — for example in season 2 of Top Chef where the chef’testants had to create an amuse bouche out of items from a vending machine. Each Quickfire Challenge will be judged by a blind taste test and a five-star system, similar to fine dining reviews.
The second challenge is a more involved elimination challenge designed to test the versatility and invention of the chefs as they take on unique culinary trials such as working with unusual and exotic foods or catering for demanding clients. The food will be tasted and evaluated by the judges and a wide range of tasters for whom the challenge is aimed, whether it is patrons at a five-star restaurant or a room full of hungry kids — the food has to appeal to the diner as well as the critics if the chef is to survive.
