When they say April comes shower  – they are so not kidding especially here in the West, the rain here is nothing like the ones back home – we all welcome the rain back home because it’s always so hot and humid.  But here in the West rainy days are cold – and I’m glad I didn’t put away my electric blankets from the winter.  For those who are thinking of migrating to the west and think that the winters are fun – well – armed yourself with the electric blankets because oil and electricity can be very expensive here.  During my first year here I had refused to use the electric blanket – fearing that I might be electrocuted – hahahha!!!  yes, very silly me ! it’s actually very safe but can keep you warm and cozy and saves you lots of money.   And you know what you can carry your electric blankets to the tv room and snuggle up with your kids and watch tv on rainy days.

Look at how skinny Sharon and Fala Chen are – and how do they do it  – everyone asked all the time.  What is the secret of their weight lost ?  I want to know too don’t you?  This picture was taken recently in an award celebration and I’m really, really in awe – for I want to be as skinny too – don’t you?  do they not eat ?  do they exercise all day?  or do they have a special diet ?  or do they take a special diet pill?  recently I read in a blog that a celebrity blogger back home takes a special diet pill that you cannot buy in Asia – and she says it work and everyone I’m sure wants to know what it is.  I was reading about Apidextra and wonder if this is what they are taking myself – very interested to know.   I read a little about it – so click here to learn more about apidextra if you like, says lose 5 pounds a week and keep it off.  Anyone want to try it?  and let me know if you are successful?

Not only are Athena Chu and Paul Wong celebrating their naked album that they posted on a chinese blog – they also announced that Athena is pregnant as well.  Congrats to Athena – for she had been pretty steadfast in this relationship that lasted like 14 yrs I heard?  For someone as pretty as Athena – she could have anyone she want – but she stuck to Paul Wong for this long and kept as low profile as she did – that is pretty awesome.  I saw her on Scoop the other day – and during the interview in the airport – she did not say a thing except for thank you and thank you.  She left everything to be answered by Paul – weird I found for a celebrity for this long or is she afraid that she might jinxed the pregnancy?  Both Athena and Paul are not a young couple either – they are both in their late 30s I believed.

I’m so looking forward to the summer music festival in town this summer – because guess who is entering for the song writing contest?  Yes!  yours truly me!!   but the tricky part is I have to perform the song after writing the lyrics and the winners will be chosen by a panel of judges from the local music industry.  Now that part is scary because I don’t really have a good guitar – I just play for fun.  I looked into buying a better guitar and I loved the Godin Guitars but they are beyond my budget at the moment – but if I do win the song writing contest – I know I can use the winning money to get a good guitar.  I’m really excited for this summer music festival – I loved to sing and if I can sing with my daughter – even if I don’t win, it would be a good experience and a great way to bond with her.

We want to put a wrought iron gate for our business for safety reasons and even though the above are very popular in Asia – we don’t have this kind of gate here in the West.  Even if I was willing to get some welding equipment for a welder – I doubt he would be able to do something as pretty as the above.  I want to order it from Asia but it will cost me an arm and a leg just to have them shipped her – so I have to just settle for a normal wrought iron gate I was told.   But the above is so pretty – I decided to bring the picture to the local community school and check to see if any of the students there are adventurous to take on the task – but alas, no one was able to – but they are willing to try and come up with something similar – just may not be as pretty they said this summer.  So I told them to go ahead – as long as they are not more than a certain amount of money that I’m willing to spend on – so wish me luck – and I’ll keep you posted.

Shu Qi celebrates her 36 with her friends from the industry and lots of reporters as you can see here.  She also announced that she is reopening her microblog – after shutting it down during a recent uproar about her verbal support for an actor that is not Donnie Yen.   Hoping to just pen one or two lines of her thoughts and feelings – Shu Qi hopes that fans and friends wouldn’t read too much into her thoughts – which were sometimes just a figurative of speech.   Best Actor Lau Ching Wan and his wife Amy were also there to celebrate her birthday with her.

Poor Shirley Yeung – still hounded by the press and paparazzi about the identity of her daughter’s father – which she insist on keeping mom.  Today she announced that she will raise her daughter as a single mom and will only concentrate on her career.  She said she was still new in motherhood and still learning from her mom.  I feel bad for Shirley – all stressed up – and trying to make it work for her and the baby – hopefully the press would give her a break and leave her a lone for abit.

TONG SHAP-YAT (Kevin Cheng) enters the underground boxing scene for money when he is learning Thai boxing with his senior brother KO WAI-TING (Wong Tak Bun) in Thailand, a decision he regrets for the rest of his life.

In order to turn over a new leaf, he withdraws from the boxing scene and finds himself a job as a security guard at a sports goods company. His outspokenness attracts the attention of his supervisor CHAI PAK-FAI (Selena Li). YAT and office assistant BUT KA-SHING (Wong Ho Yin) do not get along at the beginning but they become friends after their misunderstanding is eliminated. SHING’s passion for Thai boxing impresses YAT. He picks up the sports again and also helps SHING improve at Thai boxing. He returns to the boxing gymnasium, too, where he started out as a boxer, determines to train SHING and deaf-mute boxer TING YAN-TSZ (Nancy Wu) to be boxing champions. Later, YAT and SHING’s amity is put to the test when TING tries to sow discord between them.

Now who would have thought that Charlie Yeung would be a director right?  we all loved Charlie and her acting skills – but her debut as a director brings in big name for her new movie – Aaron Kwok will play a lawyer in her movie – not a romantic one I read -CHRISTMAS ROSE is based in a court house and should be ready to be seen this Christmas.  So watch out for this movie everyone – I think it would be a good one.

The on off relationship of Edison and 16 yrs old model Cammi had been going for ages now.  Even though Cammi had claimed that she was no longer with Edison and edison sweared that they had broken off – it was rumored that Cammi was seen coming out of Edison’s apartment just recently at wee hours in the morning.   I figured they didn’t really break off – just damage control on both Cammi’s and Edison’s part – but since the speculation and all – it had become clear that Cammi and Edison are doomed to fail.  So folks stop reading about Edison and Cammi – I seriously think they are just making news for themselves.

Looks like both Zhang Ziyi and Gong Li has put the past behind them and kissed and make up during the2011 Director’s Association Recognition Show in Beijing 2 nights ago.  Rumor has it that both leading ladies were never in good term because Zhang the younger looking Gong Li – stole Gong Li’s boyfriend from her right under her nose.

Zhang who won the best actress was seen congratulated by Gong Li and she even kissed her on her cheeks.  I think this has made Zhang Ziyi happy besides winning the award for best actress as they never did actually speak when they made the movie Memoirs of the Geisha and never made a movie together.  Perhaps this kissed and make up will see the two leading actresses work together and bring us some good movies eh.

I haven’t seen Lin Fong Jiao for so long – !! boy! must be closed to 20 years and only got to know that she is actually in fact legally married to Jackie Chan when the scandal about Jackie fathering a kid with the former Ms Hong Kong – Elaine Ng in 1999.  Anyhow – here we see Lin Fong Jiao looking quite old while Jackie is still looking good and young.   While he and Elaine has no contact – rumor has it that he is still giving alimony for her daughter Chuk Lam.  Looking happy here during his 58  birthday celebration – with Sally Yeh and Jaycee and many entertainment people – I can’t help but feel sorry for Lin and Elaine, both suffer because of Jackie’s indiscretion but Jackie is as famous as he can get and of course a man of  lots of money.  And I’m surprised that he is only “playful” once though – afterall, he is so famous and rich.

Gigi is pregnant again!! congrats!  too bad she ain’t acting no more – I do like this actress.  Gigi already has 2 daughters – twins last year after she got married.   Gigi married to a rich husband and quit showbiz – as her husband didn’t like her in the limelight. Happy for her but sad for us – coz’ we won’t see her on screen again.  So congrats to Gigi again!  hopefully this pregnancy is better than the last.
