I told my kid that this year Santa was going to be broke! Why? because she had written to Santa with her list – and handed it over to me – to mail it urgently to North Pole. In the letter – she told Santa – she was somewhat good to mummy and daddy and doing well in school – so she hope Santa will bring her her list of toys – and it’s a long list i tell yer! Master sorcerer Balthazar Blake recruits a seemingly everyday guy in his mission to defend New York City from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath.
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is a 2010 fantasy adventure film – a family movie I would say – since it’s a Walt Disney Pictures. Parts of the story are loosely based on the Sorcerer’s Apprentice segment in Disney’s Fantasia, which in turn is based on the late 1890s symphonic poem.
Balthaza Blake played by Nicolas Cage is a sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan fighting against the forces of evil, in particular his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath, while searching for the person who will inherit Merlin’s powers. This turns out to be nerdy Dave Stutler – who looks nothing special nor has any special physique on him – too ordinary in my humble opinion. A physics student in NYU, Balthazar takes him as his protege. A crash course later – Dave brings science and magic together to stop Morgana from raising the dead and destroying the world.

Synopsis :
Lam Yi (Grace Ip) returns to the orphanage that she grew up in after a broken relationship leaves her homeless. Director Albert Mak highlights a traditional Chinese ritual called “scaring” in Forget Me Not. The director shows a detailed depiction of the ritual in the film, which involves shouting the name of a person afflicted by disgruntled spirits to scare those spirits away.
Lam Yee is a school teacher who cannot remember anything happened to her before 15 years old. Discovering her boyfriend has another another woman, Yee attempts to commit suicide, but gives up the idea when she meets a child wandering in the street. Suspecting the child may be one of the students in her school whose parents have suddenly died of a car accident, she takes care of the child as if he is disease. When traditional medical treatment fails to cure the child’s sickness Yee brings the child to try a Chinese folk ritual called “soul-calling” – an evil expelling ceremony to cast out the demon that has scared away the child’s soul. The ceremony unveils the true identity of the child which, to her surprise, is related to her mysterious past!

For the really cool kid – we are getting them the orange and the green to be different. The ipod shuffle is affordable – and it wouldn’t break our bank. Those who don`t recognize Joyce Cheng – i don`t blame you – coz`she sure lost a lot of weight! Awesomeness rightÉ i wonder what kind of weight loss pills or weight loss plan she used. But she sure looked a lot different when she first started out when her mother – the famous Fei – Fei was still alive.
Recently Joyce and her ang moh boyfriend Mark Ryan was in the news. They had been dating for 4 yrs now before Fei Fei passed away. Looks like Mark Ryan is a man of many talent from being a triathlon to a teacher and also a designer and an artist. Mark don`t seems to want to talk too much about their relationship and want to do what makes Joyce happy. I do like Joyce – moreso, because of her mother Fei – Fei – whom I have grown up watching her on tv. I wish Joyce happiness and continue to stay healthy and slim.

Have you taken your flu shots yet? the flu clinic is in full force for us here in Canada – and for folks like us – we are certainly told that we should get it. But having been in Canada for the last 11 yrs – I haven’t had one yet – I know I should since I’m high risk. So the other day at the doctor’s office – on the exam table she asked if i wanted to get mine then. I chickened out and told her – nah ! another day. I know that my family doctor was disappointed – since I have diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol – on top of all – we deal with people everyday. But the doc’s office was cold and I was on the exam table feeling vulnerable – so I wasn’t thinking straight. Now I wished I had done it and gotten over with it but nope I have to line up with others now to get it – what a bummer !! so my advice to all of you – if your doctor ask you to get the flu shot – get it immediately.

I love our marathon movie weekends – but whenever we do the over night movie thing – i have very bad skin problems. What about you? I think it’s because of not getting enough rest and eating lots of junk food in the meantime – and the body just does it stuff and show me that it’s upset – hahahah! So each time after a marathon movie weekend – i end up having to look for natural acne treatments , else I won’t be seeing any customers for a week or so. Some of my friends have acne at the back of their shoulders – now that’s hard too. Can you imagine the scars if they don’t take care of it? No more swimming or sun tanning during the summer ! So love the marathon movie weekend but hate the skin problems that comes with it – but after finding the natural way to cure acne – I don’t have to worry too much.
