Synopsis / Plot / Review
Jo had kept hatred in his heart for a very long time and did what he could to oust his Uncle Wong Bing-Yi (Sammo Hung) from the village and to claim the rights to the “Dragon-Head Cleaver”, a symbol of power to the clan. As Wong Bing-Yi was forced out of the village, he encountered Shen Qing (Cherrie Ying) by chance and was determined to help her during the troubled times at her restaurant “Four Seas”.
Here, he discovered a young cooking wonder, Lung Kin-Yat (Vanness Wu). To bring “Four Seas” back to the top, Lung ends up representing “Four Seas” to the competition against Chef Tin (Lam Tze Chung), two times “Top Chef” winner and the head chef at “Imperial Palace”, the restaurant owned by Jo.
Lung shined by overcoming many obstacles and preparing a dish called “Fresh Water Bak-Choy” just as his master, Wong Bing-Yi had taught him. However, the head judge has been bribed by “Imperial Palace” and he is also the master of Chef Tin. Who will finally win the title of “Top Chef”? Can the “Kung Fu Chef” finally win over the hearts of many?
I haven’t watched Singapore drama for a long time.. so i thought i should do some catch up .. afterall, I do love Fann Wong and Zoe Tay – the princess and queen of Caldecott hill.
The is first collab between Zoe Tay and Fann Wong since 1995’s The Golden Pillow. It will be the first local drama to be broadcasted in HD in Singapore. The series began airing on May 27, 2009 and is expected to be one of the biggest series in Singapore for 2009, with expensive sets and on location filming in places such as Macau.
“The Ultimatum” revolves around the tale of two girls, Ye Yu Chen (Tay) and Fang Song Qiao (Wong) who were accidentally swapped at childbirth.
Growing up in very different households, a twist of fate sees their paths crossing more than 20 years later with Ye now the CEO of her father’s large conglomerate company and Fang a gutsy lawyer who didn’t enjoy such a cushy life.

Alex Fong admits there are complaints to “Beautiful Cooking”
Alex Fong is one of the hosts for “Beautiful Cooking” and has been very popular. He expressed that he received much feedback. There was some parents who hope that the Guests would wear less low-cut clothing because the show has many children watching. Other audiences suggest that the Teenage Beauty Chefs (referring to the young girls who demonstrate their cooking in the middle of the show) don’t come out and feed the Hosts anymore. Alex said: “Actually I don’t need anyone to feed me, it’s just we are all playing a game, it’s just for the laugh.”

In every Ms Hong Kong Pageant – you will find some dirty rumors and gossips – this year is no different either because in news today was Flight attendant Hilaire who is known to be a gossip in the pageant. Looks like Hilaire has some dirt – that was uncover – was she being greedy – and tricky her pilot boyfriend to buy expensive branded goods for her or was it the pilot boyfriend who just wanted to dote on her? But Hilaire wasn’t going to let the media get the better of her and responded and retorted – that she wasn’t greedy at all and that all the branded goods were bought by herself . She also make known that she did not take any diet pills to keep her awesome shape. Well, good luck to Hilaire because if she did take the diet pills – there is really nothing to be ashamed of – in fact – if she had any clue about good diet pills – she should share it with fat chicks like myself.
