Slum dog millionaire was requested by one of the biggest and most loyal fan of this blog. I found the link to it.. and am working on it.. to put it up.. so hang in there.. in the meantime.. look at the preview for it. Lots of award for this movie .. i heard.
The story of Jamal Malik, an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India’s “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? “The Banquet” is set in ancient China during the Period of Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms (907-960 AD), when dynasties succeed each other rapidly in the north and a dozen of independent states vie with one another in the south. The film begins with a scene in Cao Cao’s camp. Cao Cao’s soldiers were in the midst of a game of Cuju and he was watching the game closely with his generals and advisors. Sun Shangxiang had disguised herself as a soldier and infiltrated Cao Cao’s camp where she acted as a spy for the allied army. Cao Cao was impressed with the performance during the game by a soldier named Sun Shucai and appointed him as an officer in charge of a thousand men. Sun Shangxiang was secretly noting down details about Cao Cao’s army and had sent reports to Zhuge Liang via a pigeon. She bumped into Sun Shucai, who did not suspect her identity, and the two of them became fast friends.
At the same time, some of Cao Cao’s soldiers had died from an epidemic which was starting to spread amongst the troops. Cao Cao’s army physician Hua Tuo advised him to cremate the corpses as soon as possible instead of burying them to prevent the epidemic from spreading further. However, Cao Cao decided to hold a ritual for the dead and sent the corpses on rafts towards the allied camp, hoping to contaminate the allied army as well. Some of the allied troops and civilians unsuspectingly brought the corpses ashore and started stripping them of whatever that was valuable left on them, such as armour. However, Zhuge Liang tested one of the corpses with a needle and found it to contain a contagious disease. He warned the allied army and had those who were in contact with the corpses quarantined.

Ken (Roger Kwok), has mastered mahjong and is nicknamed “The Half-Century Man” because he once won 50 hands of mahjong in a roll. Everybody expects him to succeed his father, Uncle Man (Ha Yu), to be the Grandmaster of Kungfu Mahjong. However, Uncle Man has a heart attack on his 60th birthday and is hospitalized. Sophie, Uncle Man’s new wife takes the opportunity to persuade him to leave his estate to her instead of his son. Uncle Man tells her that she would get her wish if she beats Ken in a game of mahjong.
Meanwhile, Ken falls in love with Nancy (Shirley Yeung), a lady of rotten luck. All her previous boyfriends were either bankrupt or had died in accidents. Ken’s fortunes go downhill instantly, to the extent that when he plays mahjong with Sophie and her lover, Bowie, he’s almost cleaned out.

Having just recovered from a serious accident in Taiwan, Alice (Alice Tzeng) flies to Hong Kong to attend the memorial of her late ex-boyfriend Wilson (Kelvin Kwan), who passed away in an accident the same day she was injured. Suffering from amnesia, Alice hopes this trip and memorial will help her recover her lost memories and sense of self. With the help of Wilson’s friend Andy (Andy On), Alice slowly pieces together her relationship with Wilson, from their first encounter to the painful breakup. Andy clearly holds a torch for her, but Alice finds it difficult to let go of a past she can’t remember, especially when she is staying in Wilson’s apartment. Between the shadows and footsteps, she can feel that Wilson, or someone, is in the apartment with her.
