Grandfather clocks are rare when i was a very young kid. Only the rich and famous had grandfather clocks during those days. We had seen them in our Chinese movies when we were kids .. and I’ve always seen how much interest the grandfather’s clock was to those who visited my grampie at home. Be it his supervisor, his boss or just friends or relatives, everyone is in awe when they view the grand old dame in the living room. The hourly chime is what i remember most about the antique clock .. it sounded truly commanding. But after dark.. it can be quite eerie for a lil’ kid of 6 yrs old. Of course.. when i grew older, i learned to appreciate it differently. I haven’t seen alot of grandfather clocks for ages now, so when we bought our new house, that was what I wanted in our hallway, because a grandfather clock, represents grandeur, class and stylishness.
